Great Cue for the low price! I bought this cue to replace a cheaper mcdermott cue i had bought and it does exactly what I needed. Plus I love the G-core Shaft.

  • My Favorite Cue

This is my second McDermott Cue. I use it for regular shooting. I use my other McDermott for breaking.

I chose to Cue because I wanted a plain looking cue without so much design and graphics. I like the natural appeal of of bocote wood, the grains are irregular and unique; and they are beautiful in combination with the linen wrap.

The linen wrap is a little bit slippery, if you prefer more friction, I suggest you upgrade it to a leather wrap.

    Definitely recommend.

I give this cue a 5 star rating. It is a very beautiful well balanced cue and has a wonderful feel to it. The only issue I have, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the cue, is the double pressed linen wrap. I'm not used to the super slick linen wrap. I do not like to grip my cue hard and this thing slips right through my fingers. I guess I need to find a way to take the slick out of the linen wrap or have a different wrap put on the cue. Other than that it is perfect...

The wood grains and the wrap on this cue are absolutely beautiful. The GCore shaft is great and the tip, although it needed some shaping, grips the cue ball pretty well. Miscues are a rarity and deflection is minimal. Exactly what I was looking for.

I almost did not purchase this cue because of a negative review about the way the bolt threads directly into the wood. Well, McDermott has a good reason for choosing this type of joint; it distributes vibration along the length of the cue (not just back and forth through the shaft). This neutralizes the vibrations much quicker making this cue feel very sturdy.

    This cue is luxurious.
