I bought this rack because the one I had was a bit large, and I wanted a tighter rack to match the (what I thought) standard 2-1/4" balls that I have. Unfortunately, this new rack is about the same size as my old one, so no improvement there. Maybe my balls are slightly undersized? Anyway, the Cherry Mahogany color matches my table exactly. It's made from a stained softwood, not hardwood, but for $5.95, I'm not complaining.
It's a basic Wooden rack, which fits standard size 2 1/4" balls. I needed a rack, and it doesn't disappoint. Looks way better than the plastic rack, suits my table and even the house (I have a 100 year old house with lots of original woodwork) much better. For $6, this is a great buy. Go to a billiard supply store and expect to pay more than twice that for a cheap plastic rack.
