I would recommend this item to a friend. it's alright Brad from Hickory, NC on August 25, 2010 I bought this shaft to try to make my McD play more like my Joss. The hit is more solid than the stock McDermott, but still has as much or more deflection. It's easy to miss a ball altogether when trying a thin cut with english at full table. The sniper tip is too hard for my taste, and probaly has a displeasing sound the shaft makes when shooting off-center. I have become used to this shaft, but it made switching from the joss to the mcD and back almost impossible.

Stepping up to this shaft (came standard on my McDermott EF-3 cue) has definitely improved my game. Goes to show how important having good (in this case excellent) equipment is if you're at all serious about the game.
