Lucky Cues are Great Cues
November 8, 2014
I have bought 8 Lucky cues, 2 for myself and the rest for friends and others that wanted their own first cue. I also recommended them to others as a first cue to order on their own. I bought many other cues in the same or more price range that are intended as first or intermediate cues. None of those came close to matching the feel, construction or warranty of the Lucky Cues. The 3/8-10 joint is a very strong joint. I personally prefer a cue without a wrap. Although I appreciate fine craftsmanship of high end cues, I am more interested in a good playing shaft such as used on Lucky Cues. The Lucky Cues can easily be updated to using McDermott Intimidator I-1, I-2 or I-3 shafts and G Core shafts with the same joint type, thus allowing a second cue for breaking or greater control using the butt section from a second Lucky Cue. Or simply just having another Lucky Cue for your partner or guest player. I normally break with my playing cue and once broke a ferrule which was replaced under warranty, though tips are not covered. They are tough to beat for the price. And mine get beat. And I always recommend Ozone Billiards as the place to buy billiard equipment. From someone with about 50 years of playing experience.

great for the price

bought this cue with the bakelite tip to use as a break stick. Later weighted it to 20oz and applied a cheap rubber grip. Definitely gets the job done. perfect for only fifty bucks.

Worth more than the price

The cue, for $40, is really unbeatable. It's a solid cue, shoots well enough, and is probably one of the best cues you're going to find for under $50. I'd recommend this as a nice starter cue for anyone who doesn't want to shell out a fortune. As an aside, the tip on it is hard enough that it can be used as a cheap break cue. My break cue tip busted off and I was using this cue as a replacement for a few weeks. It worked well enough.

I have been playing for over 45 years and have had MANY factory & custom made cues. I just wish I could have gotten this cue originally and stuck with it. GREAT soft but solid hit like a regular McDermott or even a Southwest, w/ forward balance (19 1/2') when I took the 1 oz. weight bolt out. I don't like the hard Triangle like tip because I miscue w/ them so I am replacing it w/ a soft Wizard should be about perfect when I cut down the weight bolt a little and reinstall it. The shaft needed to be smoothed a bit and it is thick so in the future I may taper it down a bit to fit my style. THIS IS A GREAT CUE if you like the 3/8-10 wood to wood joint types. I am not kidding....I actually like this cue better than most any other I have owned or tried. And I bought it mail order, sight unseen. It reminds me of my ($69) Fender Squier 51' guitar that replaces my $1500 vintage 52' Tele reissue....after I replaced the pickups.

Great Christmas gift
December 26, 2011
I bought this cue for my husband for Christmas and he loved it. He's not a pool shark by any means but he wanted a cue to use with his office's new pool table. He has been very happy with this cue and I'm glad I went with oZone Billiards for this purchase. Everything went very smoothly with shipping and customer service was very helpful when I called to ask a question about my order.

very nice cue

i have had this cue for quite awhile now, i gave a friend a imperial cue for this mcdermott lucky. glad i did. this cue has a very nice tip on it and a very good ferrull which makes this cue hit extremely well and solid. i can get more english on the ball better than i expected for a cue in this price range. the cue is nicely balanced and feels good in your hand. has a nice high gloss finish on it so it is easy to keep clean. i have some high end cues and this mcdermott lucky cue hangs in there with my other cues that cost a whole lot more money. i,am not saying this cue is better than my other cues but what i,am saying is for what this pool cue cost you can most defiently not go wrong buying this mcdermott lucky cue at this very low low price. i,am very happy with mine
