okay
By billy from , on August 28, 2012

Trims and cuts okay but takes some getting used to. If tip is too hard it wont even cut.
Difficult to work with
By Ruben Gurule from Upland, Ca on April 3, 2012

The design is poor and the blade is not angled so that it trims smaller and smaller with ease.

mushroom graser
By rickey from ,mount vernon TX. on August 20, 2011

this tool will not adjust down to the tip as you cut it down you can tilt the tool to the side and cut the tip flush to the ferrule make sure tool is adjusted to correct height so you dont cut into ferrule take it slow

No more mushroom tips
By Vitor from StÂȘ Maria da Feira, Aveiro on May 18, 2011

I own a cue with a 13mm shaft and this tool seems a too big for the 13mm tip and perfect for 14mm, but it works perfectly. It's easy and very quick to use.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
be careful
By Jack from Pittsburgh, Pa on April 2, 2011

does just what it should but be careful not to shave too much and not to cut the ferrule

Good for WiderTips
By Dave from Swainwsboro, GA on February 20, 2011

This is the trimmer you need for wider tips. The depth adjusting knob is very tight but manageable.

Easy To Use Joe Porper Cue Tip Mushroom Cutter
By Eugene from Clovis, CA on January 30, 2011

This tool works great but you must make certain that you don't cut into the ferrule while shaving away the mushroom or overlapping tip material. Make sure you set the knob screw so the cutter will not fall below the bottom of the tip and cut the ferrule. The ferrule can be ruined fairly quickly, since it's much softer than the razor cutter. The Porper Mushroom Grazer cuts quickly and perfectly, so you obtain a professional job. The process should be done slowly and precisely with light pressure. Check your progress after each turn of the cutter.
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Porper flops with this tip tool.
By Denny from Hot Springs, Arkansas on August 23, 2010

The graser is not a dial-a-size as advertised. It is a one size fits all. As a consequence, it is imprecise and difficult to use. It will handle a 14 mm tip if you own a break cue of that size that uses a standard tip.
Porper's "Cut-Rite" shaper is a far better product. It eliminates mushrooms and creates a perfect radius for the tip. A two-in-one product for about the same price. However, it only handles up to 13 mm tips. If you shoot with a 12.75 or 13 mm tip, buy the shaper.

PORPER MUSHROOM GRASER
By ROBERT from NJ on February 4, 2010

GREAT TOOL. MAKES THE DO-IT-YOURSELF TIP REPLACEMENT JOB A LOT EASIER.
Great Tool
By Dan from Birmingham, AL on October 5, 2009

Does a great job of trimming tip even with ferrule. The main thing to remember is this tool is a trimmer, not a cutter. The blade is very sharp. If you are not careful you will cut too much of the tip and damage your ferrule in the process. Turn it gently to remove just a little at a time and you will acheive great results!
Pros:
Trims tip almost perfectly flush with ferrule.Cons:
Can over-cut tip and damage ferrule if not careful.
