The lamp comes with a four inch rod to extend the fan from the ceiling. This is a problem since it doesn't lower the lamp far enough down to the table. RAM offers a three foot (nonadjustable) rod to compensate for this. However I found that was too long. In the end I had to cut down the rod to sixteen inches to get the bottom of the lamp shades to be seventy one inches from the floor. Overall a very nice light but it would have been nice if RAM offered different length rods from the start. As it turned out, I had to purchase a pipe cutter and drill press to cut the rod down properly.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
