Tight Rack Everytime

This was a great purchase and for the price there is no need to not try it. Not sure if it has been mentioned before but mine came with an "enhancement kit" which includes felt pads to line the inside if you are not satisfied with the rack as is. I look forward to continuing its use!

Not satisfied with the tightness of the rack. I would still prefer to use a wood rack.

The Chameleon Rack is very effective at tightening the rack on even the most difficult table and it is easy to reposition for dips in the surface. It is also easy to remove the rack without disturbing the balls because of the space remaining after the rack is tightened.

This is my second Chameleon rack. I bought one several years ago. When I saw this fantastic price, I decided to buy another and keep it in reserve, just in case someone walks off with my old one.
I've been playing pool and racking balls for 50 years. This is the best innovation I've ever seen. No set up, simply take it out of the box and use. Perfectly tight racks without having to mark your felt or hammer balls into place. Easily adaptable from "8 Ball" to "9 Ball" simply by flipping a bar.
I would recommend this rack to any serious pool player.

This thing is a great value, especially for a home table. After a little practice and getting used to it, you can get pretty consistently tight 8 ball racks with this. A big factor in league however is the thickness of the felt nap on a lot of the bar tables and how level they are. Often, the rack will have everything locked in place, but a ball will roll a little bit after moving the rack. A quick retry on the rack isn't a bad option though. Definitely keeps the average rack much tighter than those flexible plastic racks at the league bar.

Eh, it seemed kind of gimmicky, but I decided to give it a try anyways. I have had the chance to use this rack on several occasions and it works as advertised. The thick plastic doesn't flex like the thinner cheapy racks do. I may remove the felt pads as they seem to cause some rollback when the pressure is released but I'll play with it a bit more before deciding. So far I like this rack a lot and will use it when ever I can.

This is the best thing since sliced bread. Excellent for home tables where your playing a variety of games. We have used our rack everyday playing 7, 8, 9, 10, straight pool...everything...for almost a year, and never had a problem with it. It is very well constructed and definatly puts a good squeez on the rack resulting in amazing breaks...(and shorter games!!!)

i love this rack. i use it apa leagues always a consitant tight rack. very well built better than the sardo rack.
i dont believe iu can find a better rack for all billiard games. i have recommended this rack to many league members

Average - too many parts

The ad and description appear to show a rack that can rack any combination of games. But some of the clip on parts can not clip on with other parts there. Overall, the build feels cheap, the clips are hard to operate and feel like this plastic is going to break if you continue to pry at it. I have NOT had any issue, just feels like a very cheap design. Execution of the design is average.
I don't get any tighter rack with this rack than a standard triangle.
Final opinion is I would save my money, if I had to do it over again. Price point about $15 is more what it is worth. Without a way to trap all the clip on parts, it's just a puzzle with pieces waiting to be missing.

I was a little concerned as this item was cheaper than I had found anywhere else, but after carefully reading the description I went on and bought it. Very glad, this item works as advertised, maybe even a little better than i thought it would. other reviewers said the nine ball attachment did not work well but I find it to work very good. Overall this is a very good rack and cost a lot less than some of the others out there.

I bought this rack out of curiosity. It is fun to play with but; if you have rack as many racks as I have, you can use any good quality 60 degree rack for any of these games. There are a lot of parts to this rack. It is made of quality plastic and precise. I like it but would not recommend it.

The first thing you'll notice about the Chameleon Rack when you open it, is just how sturdy and rigid it is. The rack may be made of plastic but it has the same weight and density of a metal rack. The plastic material is actually a benefit, as it makes for nice and quiet racking. It doesn't sound like a swarm of robots fighting each other every time you rack (*ahem* Delta-13). The Chameleon can be modified for 3 ball, 6 ball, 7 ball, 8 ball, and 9 ball giving a tight and snug fit for each rack-a perfect rack every time. For the price, The Chameleon trumps every rack out there, you will never need another rack again. And even if you drop The Chameleon, the heavy duty plastic will easily survive the fall

Too many parts trying to be a "one size fits all". I found it to be cumbersome and clumsy when removing from the balls. Wish I'd just went with the "tried and true" plain ol' everyday garden variety wooden rack. JMHO.

Though it may be true that this is an awfully quirky-looking rack, once you get used to the way it works, it provides a great, tight rack every time. It is *MUCH* better than the cheap plastic racks, and definitely easier to get a consistent, tight set than wooden racks. It takes a little getting used to, I think, but after a couple racks, you'll be quite pleased with the purchase (and the quirkiness tends to grow on you, especially when you're not wasting time trying to re-rack a loose set!)
Too bad it couldn't be all black...to lend a bit of more of an up-scale look to it...but I guess marketing and brand-recognition trump aesthetics!

the only thing I got rid of were the small felt pads -when the rack was compressed and then released the balls had a tendency to spring out - I got rid of the pads and now the rack is worn in and works great

I own a Sardo M-5000 and now a Chameleon and both are a world of difference beyond the traditional triangle. I honestly still can't determine whether I prefer the Chameleon or the Sardo (both have their pros and cons), but If you want a precision rack that far exceeds anything that can be achieved with a triangle you will not be disappointed with this product.
We play 8-, 9- and 3-ball here at home and the tighter more precise rack only benefits the game. Say goodbye to loose racks no matter your game of choice.
Pros:
Tight rack.
If the balls settle it's a lot easier to notice with the open top, unlike the Sardo.
Using this is actually quicker than using a triangle.
Extremely straightforward design and incredibly easy to use.Cons:
Since the pressure is only coming horizontally instead of horizontally and vertically, there can be a tendency for the balls to settle, but a quick 3 second re-rack is a quick fix.Great Rack

This rack is great. You can get a good tight rack plus play all sorts of games like 8 ball, 9 ball and 10 ball with one rack! This is the only rack I use when I play now. My old wooden racks are sitting in a closet.
