The Lone Star Billiards Tour -Season Finale- Oct. 4-5, 2014

Ernesto Bayaua went undefeated in the open 9-ball division this past weekend on the Lone Star Billiards tour held at Bogies Billiards & Sports Bar in Houston, TX. Tour newcomer Jesse Langston clinched the amateur 9-ball division’s top spot defeating some tough players in a playing field of 32. This marks this season’s final stop on the 2014 Lone Star Billiards Tour, crowning Chase Rudder the Open division champion & Jonathon Poon the Amateur division champion.

In the open division, Ernesto Bayaua cruised undefeated to the hot seat with wins over Manny Chau, 9-5, Dave DeVaney, 9-1, Cielo Velasquez, 9-3, and Will Felder, 9-4. Runner up, Manny Chau defeated Steve Williams, 7-0, Sonny Bosshamer, 7-3, and Jonathan Poon, 7-5. Sonny Bosshamer had an incredible run, defeating Alex Cardenas, 9-5, Phillip Tieu, 9-6, and Poon, 9-3. With Bayaua retaining the hot seat Chau and Bosshamer ended the semi finals with Chau moving ahead to face Bayaua. The finals would put Chau and Bayaua head-to-head with Bayaua emerging victorious over Chau, 9-5 claiming his second Lone Star Tour win of the season.

The amateur divison saw Jonathon Poon best Steve Williams, 7-4, Robert Gonzalez, 7-4, Daniel Wise, 7-4, and Jerald Jackson, 7-5. Will Felder brought down Justin Pena, 7-1, Bill Fain, 7-4, Jesse Langston, 7-4, and Sonny Bosshamer to reach Poon for the hot seat. One-loss side action saw Chris Young, who suffered a first round loss to Jim Bishop, win 5 consecutive matches until losing to Bosshamer, 5-3. Langston overcame Jackson, 5-3, and Bosshamer, 5-4, while Poon squeezed by Felder for the hot seat win, 7-6. Langston went on to defeat Felder, 5-4, along with hot seat winner Poon, to capture his first Lone Star Tour win!

Chase Rudder and Jonathon Poon emerged from the 2014 season as the Open and Amateur Lone Star Tour Champions.It was a close points race , but when all of the numbers where crunched, these two players emerged victorious. Each player received a new Poison VX Jump Cue and Delta-13 Elite Rack for their year-long efforts.
