I've used cheaper tips that develop a flat spot around 1/8 an inch diameter after a few shots, more than a tip scoffer could remove while playing. I'd have to use a tip shaping tool after every session to reform the tip.
This tip hasn't formed a flat spot yet. I briefly run a scoffer over it several times during a session and haven't had to reshape it yet.
It holds chalk very well.
