It was a perfect fit for my McDermott cue and I am sure it will protect my pool cue very well. Just be aware that once you use these joint protectors that they will increase the size of your shafts therefore when it comes to using certain pool cue cases your cue may not fit inside your case if you had your cue stored in one before your purchase.

seventy-five extra cents for metal vs plastic and they are definitely going to last a while. I've decided to go ahead and use the aluminum on my main shafts and the plastic on my backup shafts. It works great so far and feels more solid
